This is my personal website. This page explains email subscriptions, analytics and hosting.
Email notes
If you choose to subscribe, the form sends your email address to Buttondown so I can send occasional notes about building software and new guides. Buttondown sends a confirmation email before activating your subscription. Reading the site and downloading the checklist do not require a subscription.
Buttondown manages the subscription and unsubscribe process. You can unsubscribe using the link in an email, or contact me at jeff@hooton.codes with a question about your subscription or a request to access, correct or delete your information. Unsubscribing stops future marketing emails; it does not necessarily erase records needed to keep an address unsubscribed. See Buttondown's privacy policy for information about its handling of signup and email activity data.
If you previously subscribed through the Kit link, contact me about that subscription. Removing the link does not delete any data already held by Kit.
Analytics
This site uses Cloudflare Web Analytics to count page views. It is cookieless: it sets no cookies, does not use local storage, and does not track you across sites or build a profile of you. I see aggregate numbers such as which pages are read, referring sites, and general country, browser and device types. See Cloudflare Web Analytics for details on how it works.
Hosting
The site is hosted on Cloudflare Workers. Cloudflare may collect basic server logs (IP addresses, request timestamps) as part of their infrastructure. See Cloudflare's privacy policy for details.
